PANIC ATTACKEROO...we HAVE no credit cards...we HAVE a debit card but the numbers on the back must be rubbed off so I was having no luck even ordering it online since they needed those CW numbers. I tried e-books next...thought I could at least read it on the computer...WHY you ask? Because I live in middle-of-friggin'-nowhere in western NY and when I went online to check the stores out here... nada zip... not here yet, I guess...have to drive to Syracuse three hours away to buy the book...well, I got panicky and tried Barnes and Noble and they had my info in their system so I hope and pray it gets here ASAP so I have time to read it and write my 500 words or less...before the 17th! If not, I will summon up my mysterious magical made-up-stuff maker and maybe the words will come to me and then I can read the book afterwards when it finally arrives...nah, not a good idea...okay BOOK! BOOK! BOOK! Get here!

MIZ MIZ...you're on!

I have a copy on hold also, at my Local Library. The book is at the Library, but still in "cataloging" and not in circulation yet-- as of today, 4:30 pm. I have my name down for the first person to check it out. Hopefully,The Women, will be out of cataloging by tomorrow a.m. and I can start reading.

E-Yah, now I have a pair. (re: The Women - not new D-cups) Might I receive a spare? Hm.

Yes! That was quite crafty thinking on the part of the posse! Order one on Amazon and then because 'some people' suffer from OCD and are competitive, they are mentally forced to walk to Borders on Michigan Avenue yesterday, in a torrential downpour of cold wind and wet, to purchase ANOTHER copy of The Women!

It's okay though, because they will share their copies with the neighbors, etc.

PS: The Women was in the new fiction release section located in the front-north stack of the store, way up high! On the top shelf! Where I had to tippy toe to knock one down onto the ground with my umbrella! Prior to purchasing it!

"Do you have a Borders card? Would you like to open an account so you can get 15% off your next purchase?"
No! When are these guys, who are robotic cashiers, going to get it throught their thick, metal, skulls that if I don't whip a Borders card out of my purse, I probably am using a different card to rack AA miles! Gaw! Quit asking me the same question over and over! That's why I like being an Amazonian.

Miz

Oh Q-Force! Are you skimming again? Ha!

Dear Fons: D-Cups refers to breast size. Hope that helps. (I was trying to be a jokster.)

Good Luck, U-all!

Miz

PS:...He knelt down and licked her Amazonian boot straps made of soft suede, a fashionable cobalt blue. The straps were a lucsious pink at the tips. They were Jimmy Choo's from the Oak Street store in Chicago's Gold Coast. (next paragraph)

The strapping man quit licking the Amazonian's boot staps. The activity was drying out his tongue. Lifted himself up by his personal, very own boot straps (made of manly brown rawhide from the Western Store on Speedway, Tucson AZ) and pulled out his girthy sword (the reader is not given anymore info on the sword, let them use their imaginations). The Valentine couple were located in the Black Forest of The Rhineland. Many, many years ago. (backstory)

Hm. there's a lot of boot strapping going on...Needs work.

Doctor Boyle*: On Thursday February 12th, I was disapoointed when I learned that the deadline for Contest # 7 was one week from the release date of February 10th. Initially, my plan was to purchase "The Women" on Sunday, February 15th and start reading it that very night. Much to my delight - and I held this out as a very real possibility - I received the book as a Valentine's gift. And what I've read thus far, I've enjoyed. But my schedule hasn't afforded me the time to read as often as I would like. And I simply thought that a one week deadline was too narrow a window, given the many obstacles(pronounced ob-STACK-alls a la "O Brother Where Art Thou") in people's daily lives.

I read slowly, and as I read, I write down the many new words and their definitions, which I eventually share with other readers. So I will not be submitting a contest entry. I just can't squeeze it in.

Thanks just the same for all of the enjoyment I've experienced while reading your work.

Time to go. Gotta....RUNNOFT ... to the woodpile !!

*Boyle-san ff.
